ADG Inaugural 7 Ages World Championship, Spiel 2026, 22-25 October Posted on 21 Oct 17:55 , 0 comments

While we patiently wait for our 7 Ages games to ply the high seas and get to our many shores, we are very excited to announce our Inaugural 7 Ages World Championship to be held at Spiel 2026 in Essen from the 22-25th October 2026.

As you can see from the tourney schedule and rules above (if you click on the above image you will download a higher res version) the championship is being held at the Australian Design Group Booth in Hall 4-F120 (sharing with Lonny Games) which will be run by our highly experienced and friendly European manager Heiko. He has a deep knowledge of all our games so come up and say hello if you are at the show.

The 7 Ages Collector's Edition World Championship is run over 7 rounds (or 6 rounds and a repecharge) with a Grand Final on Sunday 25th October from 1-3 pm. Each round has a maximum five players and goes between 1 to 2 hours depending on the players. The winner receives a 7 Ages Velvet embossed embroidered secret glory pouch set and advances to the final. If the round goes for the maximum 2 hours the second best player also wins a secret glory pouch set and is eligible for the final.

Eligible winners and runners up who want to play in the finals must register by 10:30am Sunday morning 25 October. If more than 7 eligible players sign up for the final, round 7 becomes a repecharge where all eligible runners up compete and the player(s) with the most glory advance to the final to make up the 7 players in the final.

The winner of the final is the player at the end of the game who has the most glory. The Champion receives a 7 Ages Collector's Edition Deluxe embossed embroidered game and their name immortalised forever.

If ll cases, to break ties when more than one player has equal top glory, the player of them that has the most advanced empire wins. If that is equal, add up the progress level of all on map empires of players with the most glory, whoever of these has the most of this total wins.

As you can see from the schedule, there are 2 rounds a day for the first 3 days each lasting one to two hours. The morning round starts at 11am and the afternoon round starts at 2pm. If you know when you are at the show and when you will have free time to play, either comment below or see the organiser of the 7 Ages Championship, Karsten "Ocki" Ockenfels at the ADG Spiel booth (Hall 4-F120) any time. First in best dressed.

No experience is required to play in the 7 Ages Championships. It's a really simple game to learn (only 10 pages of standard rules which you can download gratis from the downloads section of our site), we are only playing 3 simple options (2 of which only impact the start of the game to maximise your at start card spread), Ocki will teach you everything you need to know, and most importantly, i7 Ages CE is only officially released on the 22nd October so no one apart from the testers have even played it yet so you are hardly behind the 8 ball (I've found it's always easiest to win the first world championship of anything).

So come along to the booth, check out our full catalogue of fine games (like all our 2024 World in Flames Collector's Edition games and kits) as all of them are on special for the duration of the show. If you are an advance order customer for 7 Ages Collector's Edition you can also pick yours up at the show.

Sorry for the late notice about the 7 Ages tourney but it was nip and tuck whether we would get our two pallettes of games airfreighted from the other side of the world to the show in time but the eagle safely landed at Heiko's warehouse in Essen last friday.

Have fun at the show, wish I was there. Take lots of vids and pictures of your historical campaigns so we can do up an after action report of every game of our first ever 7 Ages World Championship including hopefully an interview with the champ.

regards

Harry Rowland
