| Mark: A transport in the 0 section of a sea zone with a corp on board. Moves to a port debarks troops. Does this end the move and transport and unit are flipped since it started at sea? Or can the transport keep moving? I beleive the former as the move is a return to base is it not? Playing wif final raw 6 | |||
| Both the transport and the unit it is carrying ends their move in the port. Debarking units does not occur until the end of the naval move in the sequence of play. Thus you cannot debark a unit and continue to move a naval unit the naval move is over when units debark. | |||
| Nick: One more query (sorry but I just bought the game and havent been able to play it properly yet, so a lot of these questions probably seem stupid): If I were to get the SiF units mixed up with the WiF naval units is there a quick and easy way to separate them again? I mean I know that the Bismarck from WiF has Tirpitz printed on the back and the one from SiF doesn't, but other than differences in the statisticsm the two Hoods are the same. | |||
| Hi Nick, the easiest way to distinguish the ships is by the cost on the back. All SiF ships have a lower cost for instance the Hood costs 4/5 in the Classic game. Sif costs are 2/3. In SiF all capital ships start with a cost of 2 light ships with a cost of 1. Good luck! | |||
| Robert: I appreciate your making the rulebook for WIF available as a download on your website. However, it would be more useful if it were available as a PDF file complete with graphics. Any plans for this, or is the rulebook available in this form already and I'm just not finding it? | |||
| We will be setting up a page for the CD owners where they will be able to download PDF files. The area will be password protected where they will be able to go and download it in PDF format. It will also be an area where they will be able to download all updates for the CD. | |||
| Jeff: Why is there no us entry effect of any significance if the axis invade, conquer, or take control of and land troops in a minor country or territory in the Americas in WIFFE. Anyone heard of the "Monroe doctrine". No matter how isolationist you think the US was before the war, any axis country landing it own troops in the Americas would have drawn a swift and strong reaction! I state it as landing axis troops so the CW player does not get a free one by a DOW on Mexico. If the CW wants to make the USA mad ok. But if Germany, Italy or Japan wants to compound the situation by supporting an attacked American minor with their own units that's a whole new ball game. Anyway love the game otherwise. Big improvement of WIF 5ed. | |||
| Hi Jeff, Thanks for the kind words. The reason for the lack of US entry if the Axis are on the American map is the game is designed to be a free for all and fun for all. This gives the Axis the opportunity to try the longshot. After all it will be hard for their units to remain in supply there with the CW able to cut them off in probably more then one sea area. | |||

| Mario: Just curious, What is the WIF companion CD? Is that anything like the limited version computer WIF or will it allow you to 'Manually' fight on the computer? I'm rather in the dark, could you please clarify? | |||
| Hi Mario, The WiF companion CD is not computer WiF. It is a reference for paper WiF using Adobe Acrobat and is fully linked. With additional playaids as well. Hope this helps. | |||

Dear Wiffers, We are very close to getting WiF the comuter game finished but it is still not quite ready. A game of this size and magnitude has taken much longer to code than we anticipated, and we apologise for our lack of foresight in this regard. However, we are devoting more resources to this project to give it as early a release as possible and still expect it to be ready within the next couple of months. If this changes we will put a note to this effect on our web site as soon as we know more. As soon as it is released, we will have a price for it and we will be distributing the game to retailers throughout the world as well as via our web site. In the meantime, pls feel free to download the open Beta version at http://www.marinacci.com/Chris. Thank you for your continuing support for our products and I apologise for the delay. Regards Harry Rowland ADG |

| Antonio: Iīve bought Patton in Flames in the lates EurowifCon and I would like to point out a historical error which affects play. In Defcon 5 campaign, Italy appears as a major power whilst Spain is considered a minor country ready to be influenced (actually starts in the middle and the cost is only a little higher for the communist side). Actually in 1948 Spain was ruled by Franco (it lastest till 1975) who was totally oppossed to communism (because of this the Usa started to have diplomatic relations and had two aircraft bases in Spain) whilst Italy was divided politically between republican and communist, and the only reason why the communist didnīt try a revolution was that they were told not to do so from Moscow. I personally think that if Spain is a major power allined with the democracies and Italy is a minor country with not a high cost for the communist (not to cheap but fare) this will make the game not only more "real" historically speaking but will make the fight for the mediterranean something that could turn the game. Nevertheless your games are awesome and I canīt wait to play the computer version. Thanks for hours of happiness. Antonio. | |||
| Thank you for your kind words. We will certainly look at the situation in regards to Spain and Italy and possibly come up with an optional rule that addresses this situation. | |||
| Julien: Hello, I just bought Patton in Flames and I can already say that it is a complete success. I can't wait to play it. Just one thing in the booklet isn't clear : In 11.3, it is written that to free Germany or Japan, "it costs the liberator 50 build points". What does it mean ? Do these bp have to be paid during one turn or can you give, for example, 10 bp during 5 turns ? You see my problem. Thanks for answearing me. | |||
| During the liberation step of the game a major power which is elgible may liberate either of these major powers, but it has a cost of 50 build points which must be paid in full on the turn of liberation. Good luck in your game! | |||

Richard: Thanks been playing wif from 4ed and eia for ages. Why is 7 ages slipping I am looking forward to playing this game. Ok so your compensating us with Patif which will take us several months to play then no doubt some form of dods will be available so we can play a megga game from 1933-1965 (1914-1965 meggamegga fat/dod/wif/patif game even)so that'll take us up to next year. But I still want to play 7 ages.. Ahh I see it now the sneaky plan, your going to continue releacing wif supplements until they go back to 30000BC and therefore never have to release 7 ages. |
|||
| Ahh! You've figured out the master plan. Hopefully we see Seven Ages this year. | |||
